FTTH network is mainly realized through ODN network. It is the network between OLT (Optical Line Terminal) in the server room and ONU in the end user's home. Therefore, ODN provides the transmission channel between the data center and the end user. ODN network is divided into 3 subsystems, namely backbone optical cable subsystem, distribution optical cable subsystem and access optical cable terminal subsystem. In ODN, the optical cable network is the most important infrastructure for handling all information transmission. Fiber-to-the-home optical cables are divided into backbone optical cables, distribution optical cables and fiber-to-the-home optical cables. In addition, ODN is also composed of various optical fiber products such as ODF, fiber distribution panels, fiber cabinets, fiber connectors, and fiber distribution boxes. They connect all optical cables to make the entire optical communication system organized and performant.
Data center refers to the centralized processing, storage, transmission, exchange and management of information in the server room.
