The loose jacket (and the filling rope) are wound around the central reinforcing core to form a compact and circular cable core. The gaps inside the cable core are filled with water-resistant filler. An extruded flame-retardant sheath is applied to the outside of the cable core to form the cable.

The bottom shell and the top cover of this FTTX network pre-connectorized fiber optic cable distribution box are fixed with screws and are removable. The installation methods include pole mounting, overhead mounting, and wall mounting.
